Viral Marketing Tips

I’m going to give out a few tips on how to make your website more viral. What I mean by that is tips that will improve the visitors (and their quality) on your website and give it some social networking functionality to simplify your everyday life in the marketing process.

I might just blurt out a one liner here and there, but I’d like to hear your comments if you’ve applied it and it worked for you, or alternatively, damn it to hell along with blinking text.

It’s obvious that not everything will work for your website and that you should carefully consider what the goals of your website is before applying any of these tips.

First of all, how about a simple ‘tell a friend’ function on your website? After all, if you write something cool and people want to share it with each other, there are only but a few ways to do this. Tell a Friend is more personal than social bookmarking (which I’ll get to at some stage in the future), although its been around for a while and as with certain types of online advertising people tend to become blind to certain things, but there’s nothing like the power in word of mouth…

This can either be done by plugins (if you’re using a platform like WordPress) or a website developer that can develop the functionality custom integrated into your website.

Now it’s just a matter of having content on your website that people would want to tell a friend about…
